fly around/about (swh): if statements [esp. rumours, accusations] fly about, they are made a lot in a way which makes people excited
Nobody knew where George had gone, but there were all sorts of rumours flying around. [usually in continuous tenses]
There's a ridiculous story about Jane having a drinking problem flying about the office.
