I. VOCAB LIST

1. Preview the new vocabulary as a class. I enjoy reading the words aloud twice and then have my students, as a class, follow my example. Perhaps then I will ask one student to try pronouncing all the words alone.
2. Second, ask students to explain the words they know. Teacher should assist by repeating correct definitions and helping out students who are having some difficulties explaining their word's definition.
3. Next, go over the usage of the new words by giving examples sentences.
Have students create sentences based on some or all the words. This also makes a great homework supplement.

II. CROSSWORD PUZZLE

In pairs, have your students "compete" to be the first pair to finish!
III. QUESTIONS

Again, keep students in pairs and have them "race" to see who can get the most answers correct.
IV. WORD SEARCH

Last, but not least, in this plethora of MLK Jr. fun is the super challenging word search. By this pair work round, students should be well familiar with the words they will work with in this puzzle. |
